Hydronics Unlocked is a practical training programme that gives heating engineers a clear way to design systems properly, using a step-by-step approach they can apply on site.

Delivered through both classroom and online learning, it combines real-world scenarios, interactive simulators and a repeatable 10-step process to help engineers design and install systems that perform properly, first time.

Our Hydronics Unlocked training programme starts with what you actually need to be able do in on the job, in the order you work - from survey to commissioning - and teaches the theory needed to make the right decisions at each step.

Heating engineers leave with the know-how and confidence to apply design properly on every job and a solid foundation to take their skills further.

Mixed classroom and online delivery

Hydronics Unlocked is available through both face-to-face and online learning. 

• The 1-day classroom course covers our 10-Steps to Good Hydronics Design process from end to end, where you'll build a design for a system guided by one of our expert trainers. 
• The online course breaks the 10 Steps into bite-sized, interactive modules you can work through at your own pace and revisit anytime. The online course will be available from June 2026.

• Use our 10-step process in your everyday work - apply simple maths to design complete systems with confidence
• Balance flow and resistance - understand how they interact and use that to improve system performance
• Select and set pumps correctly - calculate resistance and match pump performance to the system
• Size pipework properly - choose the right diameter to reduce pressure loss and manage velocity
• Apply modern controls effectively - understand compensation controls and their role in hydronic design
• Design with heat pumps in mind - build the understanding needed to move confidently into low temperature systems
